ABOUT US

Lochgilphead Baptist Church is situated on the beautiful West Coast of Scotland amidst the hills and lochs and as a church congregation, been meeting for just over 200 years, The church is located in the center of the town and serves the community of Lochgilphead and the surrounding communities found in villages close by. We are a busy thriving church that is about ordinary people, people of different ages, different backgrounds and different cultures who have discovered a new life through Jesus Christ and who want to continue their journey of faith together. Our Sunday morning worship service is our main meeting of the week and it combines a blended time of worship, preaching from the word of God, kid’s church and warm fellowship afterwards.

Lochgilphead Baptist Church has been meeting as a congregation for over 200 years...

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that there is one God, who exists in a trinity of three distinct but equal persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

We believe that God has revealed Himself to us in the Bible, which consists both of the old and New Testament and it speaks with final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe that salvation cannot be earned but is entirely a free gift from God, accomplished through the death of His Son Jesus and freely given to all those who would accept and believe in Him.

We believe that every person who has repented and received salvation should be baptized, showing their union with Christ and testifying publicly that they have been born again. Baptism must be performed in total immersion in water where the individual is baptized in the name of The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirt.

We believe in partaking in communion, remembering Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for our sins and that He will return some day to take us home.

We believe that Christ is the head of the Body of Christ and of The Universal Church to which all who are saved belong. The unity of the body of Christ is expressed through love, care and encouragement.
